Simply put, our mission is to replace diesel generators with solar generators — locally, then globally — through education and outreach.
Project ME4 = Mobile Energy for Emergencies, Education and Enterprise
We take a large mobile solar power generator -- a 25-foot-long trailer with solar PV panels, inverters and batteries (ENERGY), designed for rapid response and recovery in disasters (EMERGENCY), and use it as a moveable classroom to teach kids about design, science, engineering and technology through hands-on instruction (EDUCATION). We are currently raising funds as grant money and seeking sponsors and advertisers to operate this as a pilot project to attract collaborators in creating jobs and opportunities (ENTERPRISE) for underserved communities and developing countries.

Project ME4 Launched on 20 March 2012!
<<<< It involves one of these.
What is it?
It is a mobile solar power generator, designed to replace diesel generators. It's a big and heavy unit, but it's the "first generation," and these are only getting better, lighter, smaller and more powerful. Solar generators are stand-alone power units with solar PV modules, inverters, power management components, and battery storage to get through bad weather and at night.
What does ME4 use a mobile solar generator for?
We use it daily as a teaching/learning platform, while maintaining it in case of emergency. You can learn more about this in the Mobile, Energy, Emergency and Enterprise sections of this website.
What did we launch?
We are running a "crowdfunding" or peer-to-peer (P2P) or grassroots funding campaign that is now ongoing until we raise a minimum of $8,000. In addition to this P2P funding effort, we are working on grants and looking for ways to financially sustain our project for as long as necessary. Donate today!
