Project ME4
Powering other vendors at Earth Day SF.
Overview
Project ME4 is a work in progress. With your help we will be "in progress" for a few years!
History
In the making...
Project ME4 represents the first-and-only use of a mobile solar generator as a moveable classroom. And the fact that it performs in disasters as a rapid-response system makes it all the more unique. The genesis of the idea has two components: one, as an emergency response unit it makes no sense to put it in a warehouse to wait for the eventual disaster to happen; and two, we always thought it would be cool to build some kind of business around this platform -- Business in a Box if you will.
The Genesis of an Enterprise
So that's what got us to thinking about some daily use for this power-generating mobile platform. A lot of ideas were explored, including some wacky ones, but the most logical one seemed to be a "teaching trailer." A big solar generator is a magnet for inquiry, and inquiry is what makes kids (and students of all ages) want to learn. We also knew that there is a groundswell of interest in teaching science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) supported by both government and many influential corporations (sponsoring and advertising opportunities currently available).
What Do We Need?

What Do We Need?
- Grassroots Support. Every pledge of $4.00 or more helps push us toward our goal... and we're determined to get there! You will be part of a small but innovative movement to bring the many stakeholders in our communities together. And if $4 is too much, just tell everyone you know about it! And if, for some inconceivable reason we don't reach our $8K tipping point, no one gets charged and no one gets hurt... well, maybe our feelings.
- Company Sponsors. Help us get "on the road" with ME4 and your message will get visibility wherever we go. You've seen the rolling billboards? Ours is ten times more effective because people are really looking at our rig to figure out what the heck we're doing!
