Help is on the way...
SolaRover's presence in the Rockaways was felt by hundreds of people in its stay there. Our fundraising goal was to keep their solar generator in New York where it is sorely needed. The unit easily moves to wherever it's needed.
The Mojave3-plus that deployed to New York has a massive battery bank to get it through inclement weather and long, dark nights. Greenpeace had a great report on their blog: "Over two weeks of work we’ve worked with Occupy Sandy to setup food, clothing and resource distribution sites, medical clinics, communications hubs – all with solar power. Thousands of people have used the solar cells to call loved ones from newly charged phones or just used the flood lights to stand and talk to neighbors. It’s about community supported energy that actually supports the community."

Help Solar Work for Superstorm Sandy Survivors
We had the inspiration early Saturday morning (17 Nov 12) to try a crowdfunding campaign to help communities in the hardest hit areas by Superstorm Sandy. An extraordinary effort was mounted by Indiegogo to help I-don't-know-how-many campaigns launch and raise funds for those affected in New York, New Jersey and other areas hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. Our campaign officially launched less than 8 hours later, ready to receive funds! Thanks IndieGoGo!!
SolaRover Led the Charge!
Our supporting sponsor, SolaRover, Inc. of Colorado, successfully deployed their "flagship" Mojave-3 Mobile Solar Power System (MSPS) to one of New York's most devastated shorelines, the Rockaway Beach area. The MSPS was driven from their Indiana factory and arrived in New York on 14 November to power incident command centers and equipment. It was deployed at Rockaway Beach, to power a neighborhood clinic, medical refrigeration, a hot food tent set up by Greenpeace, nighttime flood lighting and charging for cellphones and other critical equipment as needed.
